United Bank for Africa                                                          November 2008-Till Date

Department: Management Information Systems - Project

Position: Application DBA

In this role, I co-ordinate meetings between the project team and UBAGROUP (All countries and Legal Entities), ensure data quality and mappings, carry out screen and business logic tests (COGNOS, Business Objects and Web) on completed modules, ensure the correctness of extractions queries from various Legal-Entity specific primes systems within the financial group and serve as ICT/Business interface between the MIS project team and UBAGROUP ICT department.

 

 

 Key Achievements


  • Configured and Deployed Unified Communication Infrastructure (Office Communications Server) for UBAGROUP; this comprised IM, Voice, Conference calls and Video calls. This project increased staff efficiency, reduced Group wide telephone call cost and need for physical meetings.
  • Developed several BlackBerry based (J2ME, CLDC/MIDP) applications that allows staff to access applications remotely anywhere in the world.

In this role, I was in charge of the messaging infrastructure of the company (E-mail), backup & restore and general administration of the Windows network (Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP and Vista client work stations).

 

 

 

United Bank for Africa                                                        November 2005 - Nov 2008

Positions: Enterprise Systems Engineer, Systems Architect

In this role, I managed the Windows Infrastructure and IT HelpDesk escalation for UBAGROUP Plc (www.ubagroup.com - comprising about 8,000 desktop computers and 50 Enterprise Servers); my Systems Engineering team caters to approximately 10,000 users spread across 600 offices in Africa, London and New York. I was also involved in the formulation of Email and systems policies for UBAGROUP.

 

 

 Key Achievements


  • Member of a 2 man team that integrated the Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure of Standard Trust Bank (STB) and United Bank for Africa (UBA) during the bank consolidation process; this comprised 9,000 Active Directory accounts and involved the migration of 3,500 mailboxes. This is the largest inter-forest migration in Nigeria to date.
  • Designed and configured the Microsoft Windows Active Directory platform and messaging infrastructure for UBA Ghana which consisted of Active Directory Servers, Exchanger Servers, Outlook Web Access Servers (Front-End OWA Servers), Web proxy Servers, and Firewall Servers.
  • Configured various mobile Email services for UBA Nigeria and Ghana; this allows users to send/receive real-time corporate Emails via mobile phones and laptops anywhere in the world (ActiveSync mobile access via GPRS, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Duality Push EMail and external OWA Access - 128 to 256 AES encryption).
  • Member of a 4 man team that designed the “best content” financial institution website (www.ubagroup.com - Phillips Consulting award, 2005). All members of the team were given commendation letters and cash award from UBAGROUP


 

 

Standard Trust Bank                                                                                  June 2004 - 2005

Position: Enterprise Systems Administrator

In this role, I was in charge of 15 Windows 2000 and 2003 Enterprise Servers comprising Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Web Servers. I was also responsible for internet, intranet web development/updates and the IT helpdesk that caters to 3,500 users.

 

 

 

CA Consultants Ltd.                                                                                     Feb - June 2004

Position: HVAC Design Engineer

In this role, I was responsible for the design of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVAC) and plumbing/piped services for multi-storey and sky rise buildings. I was also involved in the preparation of budget estimates, technical specifications, site supervision and commissioning.
